Editorial Board

The Editorial Board of PPL consists of scholars with a thorough expertise in various areas of private law. It remains in charge of running the site and cares of its content. The Board combines cooperation on the general level (Chief Editors) with the multi-elemental structure of theme columns, under individual supervision (Editors). Feel free to contact us.

Mateusz Grochowski
Editor-in-chief
Ph.D., assistant professor in the Institute of Legal Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences and in the Institute of Justice, assistant in the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Poland, holder of scholarships of the Foundation for Polish Science and of the National Science Centre, previously visiting scholar at the Università degli Studi di Trento and search affiliate at the European University Institute in Florence. 

2. Deputy Editors-in-chief

Michał Olszowski
Deputy Editor-in-chief for IT Issues
Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of Law, Jagiellonian University, and a trainee legal advisor in Cracow Chamber of Legal Counsel. In 2010 he earned a degree in law from UMCS in Lublin and in 2011 he earned a licentiate in canon law from KUL in Lublin. In 2011 he also graduated from UMCS with a degree in computer science. He prepares a doctoral dissertation on copyrights protection for computer programs’ source code.
Piotr Jantos
Deputy Editor-in-chief for Promotion
Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of Law, Jagiellonian University, and a trainee legal advisor. In 2010 he earned a degree in law from UMCS in Lublin and in 2011 he earned a licentiate in canon law from KUL in Lublin. In 2011 he also finished postgraduate studies in EU law at the Jagiellonian University. He prepares a dissertation on the exhaustion doctrine applied to computer software distribution in the European Union law.

Witold Borysiak
Obligations and Inheritance Law Editor
Ph.D., associate professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, Judge’s assistant on the Constitutional Tribunal, member of the inheritance law group of the Civil Law Codification Commission, twofold scholarship holder of the Foundation for Polish Science, winner of the 1st Prize in the XLVIII competition of the “Państwo i Prawo” journal for the best Ph.D. dissertation.
Kamil Zaradkiewicz
Property Law Editor
Habilitated doctor, associate professor at the Institute of Civil Law, University of Warsaw, director of the Department of Jurisprudence and Studies in the Office of the Constitutional Tribunal of Poland, and expert of the Polish Codification Commission for Civil Law.
Mateusz Pilich
Private International Law Editor
Ph.D. is an associate professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw and a Member of the Research and Analyses Office of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Poland. His scientific interest focuses on the private international law, international civil procedure, and EU law.
Monika Tarska
Company Law Editor
Habilitated doctor, associate professor in the Institute of Legal Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences and in the Chair of Private Economic Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University; the author of numerous publications on commercial law, including commentaries to the Code of Commercial Companies and the Act on National Court Register.
Joanna Buchalska
IP Law Editor
Ph.D., a lecturer at Kozminski University and a supervisor of the Students’ Organisation “Actio Efficiens”; Judge’s assistant in the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Poland; formerly a trainee in the DIPP Department in OHIM and a junior associate in a Polish leading patent, trademark and design law firm; she prepared her doctoral dissertation – “Invalidity and Cancelation of the Design Right”.
Monika Namysłowska
Competition Law Editor
Habilitated doctor, assistant professor in Chair of European Economic Law at the University of Lodz, Poland. Her research focuses on consumer law, advertising law and IT law. Member of the Advisory Board of the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) in Poland.
Piotr Rylski
Civil Procedure Editor
Ph.D., associate professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, member of the Supreme Court Research and Analyses Office and the Institute of Justice, secretary of the editorial board of the “Polski Proces Cywilny” (Polish Civil Procedure) quarterly.
Aneta Wiewiórowska-Domagalska
Consumer Law Editor
Ph.D. Utrecht University (thesis: Consumer Sales Guarantees in the European Union). Akademische Rätin at University of Osnabrück. Previously chief specialist at the Polish Ministry of Justice (specialty: contract law, consumer law, EU law), co-worker of the Polish Civil Law Codification Committee and lecturer at Koźmiński University.
